A Rainy Friday @ Tin Roof Bistro

Posted by Shannon on 02/19/2011

Tin Roof Bistro in Manhattan Beach, CA…Friday, Feb. 18

Bocce court of light, tan sand out front. Magnums of California, Spanish and Italian wine line Mahogany shelves weaving between the room’s tables.

Today was a  thank you lunch for Shannon L. She’s MMC’s west coast Account Manager  So we left our laptops for the afternoon and kicked off the long-weekend with lunch at a linen-draped table.

We split the seared Ahi salad (“sushi-grade ahi seared rare, chopped market veggies, crisp romaine, sesame, sweet soy, wasabi ginger dressing”.)  I appreciated our server’s foresight to split the salad onto two dishes for us. A light glaze of tangy dressing, slices of radishes steamed to soften and reduce natural bitterness, and logically, lightly seared tuna slices.

Also, split between us was pizza bianca with prosciutto (“garlic, thyme, 3 cheeses, balsamic syrup”.) The prosciutto tasted

Also, terrific: Mil Piedras, 2008, Argentina, Malbec  & Sexto, 2007, Spain, Garnacha/Tempranillo.

After splitting a Red Velvet cupcake (with its always heavenly cream cheese frosting) from SusieCakes, we wrapped the day with a pedicure. A fun weekend kickoff all around w/great company! Happy three-day weekend to each of you; try to enjoy the rain if you are spending it in Los Angeles like me!
