Now Open: Rockefeller in Hermosa Beach

Posted by Shannon on 05/26/2011

My hilarious and talented friend Kait invited me to come along to this Saturday afternoon pre-opening party. She is a graphic designer and was connected via Moon Tide Media, They publisher my favorite local read,  Southbay Magazine.

Think delicious little trays of appetizers sashaying by on the hands of staff in khaki pants and white dress shirts. While I passed on the caesar salad speared onto (albeit fancy) toothpicks… I certainly enjoyed the prosciutto-wrapped prawn dipped in roasted garlic aioli. It went well with the Widmer that Rockefeller had on tap.

Didn’t mention this prior, but the event was an open wine/beer bar. Next up was the cube of “gourmet grilled cheese and ham.” Inside was a jam-packed lineup of cheddar, jarlsberg, marscapone, caramelized onions, black forest ham and pest. This bite was washed down with an Oskar Blue’s Pilsner, also on tap.

One of the last items I had was a cut of bruschetta… all the usual suspects were there: Parmigiano Reggiano, basil, heirloom tomatoes. The menu lists caramelized tomatoes too.

Drinks flowed for the next few hours for me and Kait…

Southbay’s event photo gallery is online and Rockefeller’s menu, hours and etcetera are too.
