Faceoff: Neat vs. Messy Dinners

Plated Meal @ Home vs. Dinner Out 

Scallops w/ israelli couscous // Chicken burger w/ onions, cheese, garlic aioli

 

Date: August 2011

Location: Mi casa // The newly-opened restaurant, The Counter, in Hermosa Beach (the space formerly occupied by El Pollo Loco).

Details: Steve plated scallops seared in extra virgin olive oil and garnished with homegrown parsley from our deck planters. They are on top of a large scoop of couscous cooked in chicken broth w/ sautéed baby bella mushrooms. On the side, diced baby bok choy with hot chili flakes. // A 1/3 pound chicken burger with sautéed onions, grilled pineapple, spring mix greens and garlic aioli during my pre-birthday celebration.
