Evan’s Birthday at Azuma

Posted by Shannon on 02/02/2012

We came, we ate, we conquered.

Evan’s birthday was on Sunday so we took a mini trip after-work to go celebrate and feast. She first told me and James about this “epic” yet relatively unknown restaurant months ago. Low and behold, the stars finally aligned and we made it there to have dinner together!

I’ve already eaten here once before, and everything I ate (Tempura, Black Miso Cod, Spicy Chicken Wings, Sashimi) was delicious.

The feast

We had croquettes, beef teriyaki, sashimi, gyoza, chicken wings, bacon-wrapped asparagus, kimchi fried rice, chicken yakitori, rice and miso soup. We also had an omelet shown at the very bottom of the next picture. This is of particular note b/c it contains Spam, which James had never tried until that day!

The mood was light and the waiter even put on a tuxedo-apron when he heard it was Evan’s birthday!

Even though we were stuffed, the waiter brought out a dessert and a candle so we could serenade Evan w/ a mostly-on-key version of “Happy Birthday”!

One happy birthday girl!
